1.         PRESIDENT OF THE STATE COMMISSION: A person who is or has been a Judge of a High Court, appointed by the State Government shall be its President on whole time basis for a period of five years from the date of joining or till he attains the age of 67 years, whichever is earlier in terms of Section 16 of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986.  The President of the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission is entitled to pay and perks as is admissible to a sitting Judge of the High Court of Punjab and Haryana and is drawing last pay drawn minus pension.  In addition he will be entitled to all the benefits admissible to a sitting Judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court e.g. Travelling Allowance at such rate as is admissible to a sitting Judge of Punjab & Haryana High Court, A.C. staff car with cost of 200 liters of petrol/diesel every month, rent free furnished residence as admissible to a sitting Judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court.

 

2.         President of the District Fora:- A person who is, or has been, or is qualified to be a District Judge, shall be its President and are being paid salary in the pay scale of Rs.57700-1230-58930-1380-67210-1540-70290 as provided to the District & Sessions Judge and also entitled to rent free accommodation, facility of telephone in the office along with STD facility, they are also entitled to Rs.1000/- per month as conveyance allowance, medical allowance, TA/DA equivalent to a Class-I, Officer.

 

3.         Members of the State Commission:-  The State Commission shall consist of four whole time members out of which two Members are having judicial background.  One male member and one female member who shall have not less than thirty five years of age, possess a bachelor’s decree from a recognized University, have adequate knowledge and experience of at lest ten years in dealing with problems relating to economics, law, commerce, accountancy, industry, public affairs or administration.  They are getting honorarium @ Rs.60,000/- per month.  They are also entitled for grant of government accommodation if available or HRA as per State Govt. Rules, conveyance allowance of Rs.1000/- per month, facility of telephone of Rs.1000/- per month for using mobile phone or land line phone, Medical reimbursement and also entitled to TA/DA as admissible to a Grade-I Officer of the State Government. 

 

4.         Members of the District Fora in the State of Haryana:- The District Fora in the State of Haryana shall consist of two whole time members one of whom shall be a woman who shall have not less than thirty five years of age, possess a bachelor’s decree from a recognized University, have adequate knowledge and experience of at lest ten years in dealing with problems relating to economics, law, commerce, accountancy, industry, public affairs or administration.  They are getting honorarium @ Rs.40,000/- per month.  They are also entitled to TA/DA as admissible to a Grade-II Officer of the State Government.
